Officially formed November 22, 1997, the Washington State Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, Inc. now boasts 129 members. The Washington State Chapter exists as a non-profit organization in the State of Washington to stimulate public interest in matters relating to the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803-1806. The Chapter is affiliated with the National Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, Inc. and their activities are intended to complement and supplement those of the National Foundation. The Chapter will seek out and identify Lewis and Clark Expedition related sites and monitor the condition of interpretive facilities in its geographic area. The Chapter will assist the National Foundation in monitoring the condition of other interpretive facilities along the trail. For information on joining the Washington State Chapter, please contact: Robert Heacock - Membership Chairman, WA LCTHF Download Membership Application

Officers
President: Jill Stephenson

Jill served as Vice President of the Washington Chapter for two years before being elected President in 2009. She has been a member of both the National and Washington Chapters since 2004, adding Oregon Chapter membership in 2008. As President, she hopes to encourage active involvement from more of the current membership, to increase membership in this Post-Bicentennial era and to help maintain an up-to-date website.

A self-described Lewis and Clark “groupie,” she is fascinated by the continuing pull of the story of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. She loves participating, as life allows, in LCTHF activities and field trips. A life-long goal is to follow The Trail from start to finish.
